POSITION DESCRIPTION: Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare and review U.S. related international tax provision documentation and work-papers, give advice, or audit and evaluation of such tax provision data. Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements as they relate to U.S. and international tax considerations of U.S. persons and their subsidiaries conducting business abroad. Research and analysis of U.S. and other international tax treaties; tax information exchange agreements; international trade agreements, Status of Forces Agreements and other international bilateral and multilateral treaties or conventions. Research and analysis of U.S. tax and accounting laws and regulations. Work with firm foreign affiliate offices to coordinate local compliance, statutory audit, and local related transaction tax matters. Provide accounting, tax, and auditing support. Provide outbound and inbound structure planning, foreign tax credit, world-wide tax minimization planning, transfer pricing analysis, FAS 109, foreign assignment planning and general international business advice. Responsible for process and organization. Translate tax requirements to Information Technology/Accounting for data capture, data collections, process automation and integration. Responsible for project management by breaking plans down into key activities, including contingency plans, pilots and prototypes. Track status against time lines and milestones. Maintain an appropriate sense of urgency and resolve issues on a timely basis. Manage scope and leverage resources effectively. Track budget variances and billing matters. Ensure accuracy and completeness of own work and that of the team. Cross check with others and identify and communicate risks and issues on a timely basis to appropriate team members.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's* in Tax. 5 years experience as a Senior Associate, Tax Attorney or related. Post bachelor's experience is required (5 years with masters or 2 years with JD) and must include: U.S. federal corporate compliance; preparing, reviewing, or analyzing corporate and partnership issues; U.S. International tax compliance experience; U.S. Foreign Tax Credit compliance and planning; foreign tax compliance coordination; and outbound and inbound international tax consulting and structuring, from a pre-transaction or preparation or due diligence, planning and implementation. CPA Required. *Employer will accept a JD and 2 years experience in lieu of a Master's degree and 5 years experience.
