AMC has committed double homicide: The Killing has been canceled by the network again following its third season.
"We have made the difficult decision not to move forward with a fourth season of The Killing," AMC said in a statement on Tuesday. "We want to thank our great partners at Fox Television Studios, creator Veena Sud, an extraordinary cast and the dedicated fans who watched."
Though it was canceled following its second season, AMC decided to bring back the Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman-fronted drama from the TV graveyard, changing the series' setting and introducing a new mystery to viewers.

The third season, which found Linden (Enos) and Holder (Kinnaman) once again teaming up in Seattle to bring a killer of young women to justice, premiered to 1.8 million viewers, while the series premiere in 2011 attracted 2.7 million viewers. The season three finale garnered 1.5 million viewers.
After announcing their plans to revive the series, AMC president Charlie Collier said, "The Killing from day one has been a truly original take on the crime drama. Veena Sud and the rest of the talented creative team are hard at work shaping the lives of Linden and Holder, portrayed by the terrific Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. We're so pleased to welcome back 'The Killing' for another season."
Though the series got off to a strong start, it faced backlash following its first season when Rosie Larsen's murder wasn't solved.
Deadline first reported the news of The Killing's cancellation.
